Schifani: "Name the Strait of Messina Bridge after Berlusconi." But Salvini stalls: "We'll talk about it."

Dedicate the bridge over the Strait of Messina to Silvio Berlusconi . This was stated by the president of the Sicilian region, Renato Schifani , in an interview with La Sicilia . "Sicily today is a busy construction site," Schifani stated. "Within a few years, it will be ready to use the bridge, which I would like to be named after Silvio Berlusconi, as a link in a modern and efficient infrastructure network."
He's not the first, after the CIPESS green light for the project , to dedicate a thought to the Cavaliere, who made the bridge over the Strait of Messina one of his flagship projects. Among the first was the current secretary of the Azzurri, Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani , who wrote on social media: "A historic day that we dedicate to President Berlusconi, to his foresight, his extraordinary vision, and his desire to make Italy ever greater."
Today, the decisive step in a long journey was completed. With the final approval of the project for the Messina Strait Bridge, work can begin on the largest engineering feat ever built in Italy: the longest single-span bridge in the world .

Transport Minister Matteo Salvini himself, however, has been deliberating over the possibility. Speaking to Agorà Estate on Rai 3 recently, he commented: "I've undoubtedly been thinking about Silvio in recent weeks. We'll have a chance to discuss the naming process. We've already deservedly and proudly chosen to name Malpensa Airport after him because he was a great Italian, a great entrepreneur, a great sportsman and communicator, as well as a great politician."
